WorkAble 2021: Psychosocial Disabilities in Workspaces
Disability is experienced at multiple levels - individual, relational, infrastructural, societal and global. Its impact can be seen in multiple aspects of our life - physical, emotional, socio-economic, political and spiritual. Mental health issues affect us all and awareness towards the same is crucial in the growth of the individual and the society.
We at Team SWARI are working on a disability related awareness and sensitization event on Dec 4th 2021, Saturday, on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (https://www.un.org/en/observances/day-of-persons-with-disabilities).
The topic is about psychosocial disabilities in workplaces, with selected invitees such as rehabilitation professionals, inclusive employment stakeholders and students pursuing a mental health education at Kristu Jayanti College, Bengaluru.
The aim is to create awareness about the importance of mental health and specific work related challenges faced by persons with mental illness in the psychosocial context of India.
The event and discussion is a celebration of neuro diversity and a confluence of diverse perspectives on collective and inclusive development.
